Hey there! If you’re reading this, chances are you know what it’s like to have a migraine ruin your day (or week, or month). But I’m here to tell you that even with those pesky headaches, life is still worth living. My name is Sawyer Matheny, and I’m a 22-year-old theatre enthusiast who’s learned to navigate the ups and downs of living with migraines.
Growing up, I was always the kid who had to be doing something creative – whether it was acting, writing, or directing. My passion for performance has been my constant companion, even through the tough times. And trust me, there have been some tough times.
My journey with migraines started in high school, during what should’ve been a thrilling senior year. Instead, I found myself dealing with debilitating headaches that made it hard to focus on anything – including my craft. It was like my body was trying to tell me something: “Hey, kid, slow down!” But I wasn’t about to let a little thing like pain stop me from pursuing my dreams.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve learned to manage my migraines (mostly) and still pursue my passion for the arts. In fact, I’m now proud to share my experiences with you through testimonials, advice, and even some humor – because, let’s face it, laughter is the best medicine!
As a health advocate for migrainemedicine.org, I’m excited to connect with others who are going through similar struggles. My hope is that by sharing my story, I can help you feel less alone in your journey. You’re not alone, and with the right mindset and support, you can conquer those pesky headaches and still live a full, fabulous life.
So grab a cup of coffee (or tea, or whatever you like), get comfortable, and let’s chat about all things migraines – from coping strategies to overcoming obstacles. I’m Sawyer, your new advocate in the fight against migraine-related woes.
